Thank You

Deciding to blog about Prop. 8 was really an experience. Thanks to all who were willing to consider my thoughts and beliefs. I really appreciate those who did not agree with me, but were able to respectfully share their opinions. Special thanks to each person who sent me supportive and kind words. Although I lost the respect of a few, I am grateful to those who were willing to hear me out.

I hope people will realize that unlike the separation of church and state, public policy must not be separate from morality. Moral principles should not be dismissed because they grow out of religious conviction--indeed, they should be based on true, unchanging principles. And while some hold differing views as to what is moral, I am grateful to live in a country where citizens can express and live by their beliefs.

Sometimes defending traditional values may be seen as unenlightened and unfashionable, but I am glad that like Gordon B. Hinckley, I can stand for something. I would worry about a world where morality is based on public opinion and trends.

That was the most excitement my blog has seen in a long time. I'll probably let it rest awhile.

Thanks for stopping by. Wishing you happy holidays.
