Dear Dairy

That's how I began my journal entries when I was seven. I couldn't spell "diary," so for about a year, most of my personal journal was unintentionally dedicated to milk cows.

I love my journals. It's fun to read back through them and remember. Want to know what I have written in them? You can get a clue here.

Ha, I love the Dairy thing. In Junior High when I began my serious obsession with keeping a journal, I always started with "Dear George." I'm not sure why I felt I had to be writing to a person, or why that person had to be male (!) but then I was a bit strange in Junior High. Maybe George was a cow.

Kimberly, do you think you'll print out your posts and save them?

Hi Grateful! I'll be sure to stop by.

Julie Q., you crack me up!

I had a "dairy" dream last night—maybe I'll blog it.

I enjoyed sharing childhood with you. Mom gave me a journal with a lock. The code was "HA" My children have enjoyed reading my journals, and have pointed out more than once sketchy entries. I referred to one boy as a turkey head. It feels good to progress. I have not thought anyone was a turkey head in years.

I always signed mine "Toodleloo". I remember really thinking until I came up with that signoff too.

Oh and 90% of my "dairy" entries were inspired by a crush on a new boy, to my husbands endless amusement.

There are a flock of mispronounced words around here, I grew up thinking it was "salivatte" rather than "salivate" or "foilage" v. "foliage" Blame it on my mom :)

I was sophisticatedly European for some BIZARRE reason. :) I called my diary "dear Comrade"
