I'm going to see a Doctor today about some pain I've been having in my foot and lower leg. It's so bad that sometimes I can barely walk. So what's crazy about that? Well, my appointment is two days AFTER I registered for the St. George Marathon.
Am I a runner? No.
Do I exercise regularly? Not really.
Do I have a lifelong dream of completing a marathon? Um, no.
Do I have a really cool brother that is running and
encouraged me to do so IF I wanted to? Yes.
Do I like the idea of having a big goal to get me moving and to push myself? Yes.
You decide. You may cast your vote in my comments section.
Crazy, Sane, Dreamer, Ambitious, WHAT?

100% AMBITIOUS! I am proud of you! When do you start training?
I'd say ambitious with bad timing. =)
Work hard, play hard, dream big, live big, otherwise what's the point? You'll do great. I am proud of you.
Ambitious! My advice, don't be hard on yourself, get aome really good training books that teach the run/walk method, it's FABULOUS and you can finish the marathon with energy to spare. Also, lure someone else that never runs into doing it with you. That way you can help eachother out.
I like those shoes. And hey, im running too.
I think you're crazy. But I hate running! They will never make a bra for me to make it possible to run without hurting my girls. Maybe duct tape?
We're in the same boat. We can go along pushing each other.
Some saaaaayyy I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.
I'm just kidding about being a dreamer. I'm in awe of your tenacity. Especially because the only time I've had an inclination to run was to the facilities with a case of the runs.
I think you have a brother that you can't say no to. I've got one of those.
hi jennifer: glad you're gonna get it checked out. hoping the best for ya :) kathleen
ps. i'm glad you're back.
Sane Ambitious Dreamer.
I once dreamed about exercising. I then promptly fell back asleep.
SO way to go YOU!!
Are you going barefoot in the race? Cuz I'm all over the barefoot thing--but I do hate running. And so I would say... yea, you're crazy! ;-D
I hope your pain will subside and give you no more problems.
Oh, and I thought the duct tape for the bouncing boobs is a great idea. Toni should let us know if it works.
...and...what did the doctor say? or has he put you away?
Yep. You've for sure gone crazy. (Just kidding!) If you know you're not able to do it you can always try to find another way out. I'm good with excuses.
What if The Runner's Club is like The Breakfast Club and you're a little bit of all of them all mixed together? But you know what they say, if you don't set a course you never get anywhere.
Good luck!
brave!
What's so bad about being crazy?
Is supercool brother strong enough to drag you across the finish line if absolutely necessary? :)
ambitious! and a bit of a glutton for punishment, i'd say, but that's just because for me running is punishment.
So the doctor gave me a splint to wear at night and I am already feeling some improvement. But he also said I shouldn't run--for now. We'll see. Thanks for weighing in everyone. As for me, I could be persuaded to change my crazy verdict. Ask me in October
99.9% ambitious and .1% crazy (I think anyone who runs a marathon has to have a little crazy in them - but "good" crazy)!
I ran a half marathon 6 months ago and it was exhilerating. I can only imagine what 13 more miles would feel like! :)
Good luck!!
ummmm, crazy?
Tylershark's comment is inspiring, but I think you're crazy. Way to go!
So is it plantar fascitis?
If so, owwwwwwwwwww!
